Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence through Education
College Bound in partnership with its sponsors, celebrates the organization's 20 years of service to students and families in the District of Columbia. College Bound invites you to join the celebration by investing in the critical work of College Bound to provide positive academic mentoring and support solutions to help students have a brighter future.
Excellence Unleashed
The College Bound 20th Anniversary reception and forum event will be a time where all guests will be able to mingle with others, including celebrity and political special guests while enjoying gourmet cuisine and cocktails. Individuals and organizations can purchase individual tickets or purchase a sponsorship package to attend the reception and to receive preferred seating for the forum immediately following the reception.
The "Actors Studio" style forum will be moderated by philanthropist and educator, Dr. Camille O. Cosby, who will engage noted poet and playwright Ms. Sonia Sanchez, scholar, professor and artist Mr. David Driskell, actress, singer and dancer Jasmine Guy and director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art and former college president Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole in a lively conversation about personal and collective excellence focused on education. In this cozy theatre setting, the audience will have ample opportunity to participate in an intimate question and answer exchange.
This will be a great night to show support for under-served District of Columbia public school students and to mingle and talk with local and national educators, politicians, and business leaders. As a result of the success of this event, College Bound will raise the necessary support to serve more students and to expand College Bound’s Virtual Mentoring Program, which supports retention efforts to ensure college completion.
