College Bound Welcomes Toronto Alsbrooks

College Bound proud to announce the appointment of Toronto Alsbrooks as Program Coordinator. As Program Coordinator, he is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Academic Mentoring Program. He will work directly with Thelma Sanga, Program Director, to meet specific program goals and strengthen the curriculum and programmatic thrust of College Bound. In addition to managing the College Bound data base, he will also work with site coordinators to ensure needs of students and partners are met at each site.

Toronto is a 2010 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where he graduated with a degree in Business Marketing. He was an active member of the Student Government Association and served on the board of the AALANA (African American / Latin American / Native American) Collegiate Association, which was charged with minority student relations on the Rochester campus.

"I am truly excited with Toronto joining us at College Bound", commented Kenneth Ward, Executive Director. "As we start the new school year, I think that the timing is just right. Toronto is a native Washingtonian and clearly understands the challenges and opportunities that students in DC face. I am also confident that Toronto will be a great role model for our students and an effective voice for College Bound as we continue to make college a reality for students in the metropolitan area."

After his first week on the job that started with College Bound's 5th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Monday and the BET Site launch on Wednesday, Toronto remarked that, "I am excited to be a part of the College Bound team and looking forward to helping students in their goal of going to college."
