The Board of Directors, students, volunteers, staff and other friends of College Bound, Inc. honor Marjorie Arrington’s commitment to College Bound with our 2010 Hall of Fame Award. This award was established by the organization’s founders to salute individuals, and/or community groups that have demonstrated on-going support for the mission and services of College Bound, Inc. Marjorie has demonstrated her support through her contribution of time, dedication and financial aid expertise.

Ms. Arrington has a long career as a financial aid professional. For over twenty years she served as Corporate Director of Financial Aid and Title IV Compliance for Strayer University, during which time the University grew from two to nearly sixty campuses. In addition to leading the administration of the University's student financial aid programs, Ms. Arrington spearheaded the development and implementation of Strayer's student loan default management plan and built internal compliance controls which helped Strayer achieve annual Title IV compliance audits with only minimal findings. While at Strayer, Ms. Arrington coordinated the design and implementation of an online financial aid management system that has now been adopted by more than 90 institutions.
Ms. Arrington has been an active member in student financial aid professional organizations for many years. She is Past President of the Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, past member of the Executive Council of the Eastern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, and has been a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, and the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators where she served as Co-Chair of VASFAA's Minority Affairs Committee. Ms. Arrington is currently Senior Manager of Higher Education Services at Dow Lohnes PLLC. She received her B. A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Through her past and continued work with College Bound, Marjorie will continue to help build a higher quality program and make college a reality for students in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
