Students Speak at River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Donte McCormick (Site Ambassador- Beacon House), Kevohn McCormick (Beacon House) and Ciara Roberts (Site Ambassador – Gonzaga) joined Executive Director Kenneth Ward in representing College Bound at River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation on Sunday April 18th. They presented to members of the church’s congregation during the between services program called "Conversation, Controversy and Coffee." After an introduction and overview of the plethora of services provided by College Bound, the students did an awesome job of sharing their experiences in the Academic Mentoring program. They also had a chance to answer numerous questions during the Q & A period about the opportunities provided by College Bound and factors that have led them to make positive choices in the face of unrelenting peer pressure and tumultuous school environs. They were hosted by Margaret Paris of the Racial Justice Task Force and Nancy Wilson, Chair of the Conversation, Controversy and Coffee Committee.
