In Memory of Diana Brown
Diana M. Brown was born in Columbia, S.C., and raised in Washington, D.C. She received her education from DC Public Schools and held positions with various federal, state, and private agencies throughout her career. The mother of four, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of five, she volunteered with College Bound through the Grandparents Program in 2011.
Diana cherished her time working at College Bound and admired the organization's values. In 2011, she invited her daughter, Natasha, to the End of the Year Celebration, marking the beginning of their anticipation for Diana's grandson, Reggie (then eight years old), to eventually join the program. Reggie became a College Bound participant in 2017, served as a student ambassador in 2019, and earned a scholarship in 2021, much to Diana's delight. Tragically, Diana passed away in September 2019. In honor of her mother's commitment to the College Bound program, Natasha initiated the Diana M. Brown Memorial Scholarship. Sponsored by Natasha Gibson
