Thank you for accepting our invitation to sit on the 2023-24 College Bound Scholarship Committee. We value your opinion and greatly appreciate you taking the time to participate in the scholarship review process. This review is a competitive non-biased process that relies on stakeholders who serve as application reviewers. Reviewers will score each application through our online portal using an established rubric.
The College Bound Scholarship Program is designed to financially assist qualified applicants in obtaining degrees from accredited academic institutions of higher learning. Each spring scholarships are awarded ranging from $1000 up to $10,000 to be used towards direct costs (tuition, room board) and indirect costs ( personal expenses, books, and transportation) for higher education.
Scholarship selection is based on a combination of academic performance, community service, extracurricular activities, and a commitment to College Bound.
College Bound students are eligible to apply for the College Bound scholarship if:
There are five scoring categories: academic performance, teacher/counselor recommendation, partner recommendation, capstone mentoring project and overall application impression. A brief explanation of each category is included on the rating form. Students are also required to submit a Capstone Mentoring Project. This project is an opportunity for our students to express the skills and knowledge that they have gained through the College Bound program as it refers to the concept of mentoring. This project must address at least one of the themes below:
What College Bound experience has been the most impact?
How would you describe your partner experience?
What’s Next?
How have you changed by being enrolled in College Bound
