    ​Matching mentors with Students

    ​The key to successful partnerships is the careful matching of students with volunteers. Many aspects need to be considered, including personalities, the sudents' needs and volunteers' skills/areas of expertise. The following items will aid us in matching you with a partner:

The College Bound family members (board, staff, volunteers, and most importantly students) are diverse not only in race/ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender and age, but also in experiences, aspirations, backgrounds, political affiliations, thoughts, and ideas. How To Enroll

College Bound emphasizes EDUCATION as the foundation for our partner-student relationships in the Academic Mentoring Program. Our focus on attending college gives these relationships a challenging but tangible and realistic goal.
You are eligible for the program if you are:
  • A Public/Charter School student in the DC Metropolitan area
  • Enrolled in a grade between 8-10
  • Committed to going to college
  • Committed to attending weekly meetings
  • Committed to working with a partner (mentor)
